Applications are invited for filling up of the following posts at Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum, Bangalore & District Science Centre, Gulbarga.

1.Lower Division Clerk : 1 Post (Reserved for OBC  for District Science Centre,Gulbarga)

2. Technician ‘A’:  2 Posts (unreserved) for VITM, Bangalore in the trades of Electrical and Carpentry.

3.Artist ‘A’ – Artist ‘A’ : 1 post (unreserved) for VITM, Bangalore

Pay Scale: Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay of Rs.1900/-

Educational Requirements: Certificate in Fine/Commercial Art from a recognized institution, after Matriculation, with one year relevant experience.

Age Limit: 33 Years

General Instructions:

1. The incumbents are liable to be transferred to any science museums/centres under the control of NCSM anywhere in India.

2. 3. Applications without copies of certificates of qualification, date of birth, experience etc., as the case may be, duly attested by a Gazzetted Officer shall not be considered.

4. Candidates already working in Government, Semi-Government, Public Undertaking and autonomous organizations must apply through proper channel.

5. Candidates are advised not to make any personal or interim enquiries, which may be considered as a disqualification.

6. Canvassing in any form and /or bringing in any influence, political or otherwise, will be treated as a disqualification for the post. Interim enquiries will not be entertained.

7.Kindly note that the participation to SISF is under three categories viz. Individual (ONE STUDENT only escorted by a teacher), Group (TWO STUDENTS in a team escorted by a teacher) and Teacher (One TEACHER only presenting an exhibit).

About the organization:

Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum is one of the units of National Council of Science Museums an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.A Brief History of the Museum Around 1960 prominent industrialists acted on an idea of setting up an industrial museum & Visvesvaraya Industrial Museum society was formed. Building of about 40,000 sq.ft area was built in Cubbon park with the financial support of industrialists, State & Government of India. On 11th Nov. 1962 late Prime minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru inaugurated the museum. The first gallery on “Electro Technic” was opened to the public on 27th July, 1965 In 1978 National Council of Science Museums (NCSM) an autonomous society was set up under the Dept. of Culture, Govt. of India. The museum is situated at Kasturba Road in the sylvan surroundings of Cubbon Park surrounded by stately buildings like Vidhan Soudha, High court etc. It is just 5 kms from City Railway & Bus station The Museum Auditorium with 150 seating capacity is available for holding conferences, workshops, exhibitions etc. related to education and scientific programmes A letter from the head of the institution, correctly indicating the name(s) of Students, Teachers and Exhibits selected by the state authorities, should be submitted at the time of registration at SISF (To confirm the particulars given in the entry form already submitted).  Individual and Group entries will not be registered without an Escort Teacher.  Accompanying teacher is NOT permitted to present any model / project.  The registration form MUST be filled as per this instruction.  The Escorting Teacher should be from the same Institution as that of the participating Student.  Any discrepancy in this regard will result in disqualification
